Why a smaller battery can cost more

DIN-format packs cost more to build. Constrained automotive case sizes mean custom tooling, tighter cell formats and more hand-assembly per pack. You pay for the engineering that makes lithium fit where lead-acid lived. High-capacity cases are simpler boxes, so the price per amp-hour is lower.
