A lithium battery that does the off-grid maths for you.

Off-grid systems live and die by the relationship between three numbers: how much energy your panels harvest in a day, how much your loads pull, and how much storage you have to bridge the cloudy weeks. Most lithium batteries leave the maths to you. TITAN does it for you.

The TITAN App V2 watches your inverter's draw pattern and learns the typical daily load profile of your cabin, your home or your site. It uses that, plus your panel rating and location, to forecast your solar yield in Ah for the next 24 hours. It flags when your forecast falls below your typical load - so you know when to throttle back, when to run the generator, when to switch to grid.

The custom BMS handles the gnarly bits. Active balancing keeps cell drift below 5mV in storage. The heater pad means you can charge from solar through a UK winter. The comms package talks Victron VE.Can, NMEA 2000 and Bluetooth - so the data lives wherever you want it.

Sizing the bank

How much storage do you need?

The off-grid sizing rule of thumb: size your bank to 2-3 days of typical daily Ah draw. That gives you enough buffer to ride through one cloudy day without dropping below 20% SOC, with a day's solar to recover. For sites with longer cloudy spells (the West Country, January, north-facing roofs) push to 3-4 days.

  • Garden office or small cabin, lights + laptop + small fridge: 105-150Ah at 12V
  • Holiday cabin, weekend use, fridge + freezer + lights: 180-260Ah at 12V
  • Off-grid home (residential), inverter-fed AC loads: 460Ah at 12V, or a 24V 230Ah bank
  • Agricultural shed / pump / monitoring: 80-180Ah at 12V, often paired with a small solar array
  • Remote sensor / telemetry / camera: 80-105Ah at 12V with a single panel

Compatible with the gear you'd already buy.

  • MPPT solar controllers: Victron SmartSolar, Renogy Rover, EPEver Tracer - all work fine. Use the lithium / LFP profile, set absorption to 14.4V and float to 13.6V for the TITAN curve.
  • Inverter / chargers: Victron MultiPlus / Quattro, Mastervolt, Studer - all directly compatible. Set the charger profile per our charger compatibility guide.
  • System monitors: Victron Cerbo + GX-Touch displays show TITAN data natively over the TITAN to Victron VE.Can cable. Full DVCC control - the BMS drives charging decisions, not the inverter.
  • Generators: any inverter generator with a quality charger (Honda EU, Yamaha EF) works. Don't connect direct from a cheap generator AC output to the battery - go through a proper lithium-aware charger.
  • App: the TITAN App V2 ties it all together - live SOC, solar yield forecast, daily Ah harvest history, appliance recognition for the loads you've configured.

Off-grid questions, answered.

Does TITAN work for whole-home solar storage?
Yes for small-to-medium systems (4-10kWh). At larger residential scale (10kWh+) we often build to spec - get in touch via the custom projects page and we'll quote a 24V or 48V configuration matched to your inverter / AC-coupled system.
What's the round-trip efficiency?
Around 96-98% for the cells themselves, ~95% accounting for the BMS overhead. The big number with TITAN is depth-of-discharge - 100% usable means you get the full nameplate Ah into your inverter, not the 50% you'd get from a lead-acid bank.
Can it handle a UK winter at an unheated cabin?
Yes. The heater pad triggers automatically when cell temperature drops below 0°C and a charge current is presented (solar, mains charger, generator). The heater uses the incoming charge current first; if more energy is needed to bring the cells up to temperature, the BMS will draw up to 3.6A from the pack itself. Discharge into your loads works down to -20°C with no heater required.
How long will it last on the wall?
Cycle life is 3000-5000 to 80% capacity. On a typical daily off-grid solar cycle that's 8-13 years before reaching 80%, with another decade or more of useful service after that - expected lifespan 15-30 years. Most off-grid users don't actually full-cycle daily (PV oversize, weather, seasonal use) so real-world life is towards the upper end. The lifetime warranty covers the BMS, balance board and cells for the working life of the pack.
Can I parallel multiple TITANs for a bigger bank?
Yes - the BMS is built for it. The TITAN App V2 will even detect a parallel bank automatically and start watching for current / voltage imbalance between the two packs. Series & parallel install guide.
