How long will a 520Ah lithium leisure battery actually last?
520Ah is our largest capacity yet - two 260Ah packs built into one case for near-residential off-grid, the biggest marine house banks and the heaviest, most sustained inverter loads. Here is exactly what a TITAN 520Ah delivers, with real runtimes for the kit most people carry.
What a 520Ah TITAN runs, and for how long
Figures assume a usable 6656Wh from a full charge. Items marked AC run through an inverter, so we have allowed for around 10% conversion loss. Real life varies with temperature, cable runs and how hard the kit works.
| Appliance | Typical draw | Runtime |
|---|---|---|
| 12V compressor fridge | 40 W | ~6.9 days |
| LED lighting | 12 W | ~23.1 days |
| Diesel night heater | 18 W | ~15.4 days |
| Water pump | 60 W | ~4.6 days |
| Phone and tablet charging | 12 W | ~23.1 days |
| Laptop | 60 W | ~4.6 days |
| TV or projector | 45 W | ~6.2 days |
| Wi-Fi or 4G router | 10 W | ~27.7 days |
| Electric blanket | 45 W | ~6.2 days |
| CPAP machine | 40 W | ~6.9 days |
| MicrowaveAC | 800 W | ~7 hours |
| Coffee machineAC | 1000 W | ~6 hours |
| 1800W induction hobAC | 1800 W | ~3 hours |
| 2000W kettleAC | 2000 W | ~3 hours |
Runtimes are a single appliance running on its own from 100% to empty. In the real world you run several at once, so use the battery size calculator to total your daily draw and size the bank properly.
How many days off-grid?
A 520Ah TITAN holds a usable 520Ah. Nearly everyone running one of these has at least one panel on the roof, so these are the figures that actually describe life with the battery: a single 100W panel putting back around 25Ah a day between April and October, before any driving or hook-up.
Those figures use one average 100W panel. For your exact panels, roof and time of year, run the numbers in the solar calculator.
With no solar at all
The floor rather than the normal case, and worth knowing if you have no panel fitted, park under trees, or travel through the depths of winter. Nothing goes back in, so the battery simply runs down at your daily rate.
Lithium vs lead-acid at 520Ah
This is where the rated number misleads people. A lead-acid leisure battery should only be taken to around half its capacity before it starts to wear out fast, so a 520Ah lead-acid gives you roughly 260Ah of safe, usable energy. A TITAN lithium of the same 520Ah rating gives you the full 520Ah, because LiFePO4 happily delivers its entire rated capacity.
Put simply, you would need around a 1040Ah lead-acid bank to match the usable energy of this one TITAN battery, at roughly double the weight and a fraction of the cycle life. That is the real reason lithium wins on anything where weight, space or how often you charge actually matters.
520Ah is the new top of the range. Two 260Ah packs sit side by side in one electrocoated case, so it suits near-residential off-grid systems, the largest marine house banks and builds with heavy, sustained inverter demand. Build a bank from several and you have power that behaves like mains.
