La 180Ah, en resumen

Actualmente ostenta el récord de mayor capacidad real en una carcasa DIN estándar. Diseñada para aventureros off-grid exigentes e instalaciones de alto consumo que necesitan capacidad real con 250 A de salida continua, sin ampliar el compartimento de batería. La carcasa es una sustitución directa DIN 019 de plomo-ácido (Varta LFD90, LED95, Banner 95751, Numax DC25MF y similares), por lo que encaja en bandejas existentes sin modificar el soporte.

La química de las celdas

Todas las baterías TITAN usan celdas prismáticas de fosfato de hierro y litio (LiFePO4) - la química de litio más estable térmica y químicamente disponible. Sin cobalto, sin níquel, sin desgasificación, sin ácido. La contrapartida es una tensión de celda ligeramente inferior (3,2 V por celda, 4 celdas = 12,8 V) y una densidad energética menor que las celdas NMC de los vehículos eléctricos. A cambio, obtiene vidas útiles que hacen que el NMC parezca desechable: de 3.000 a 25.000 ciclos según el uso, frente a los 1.000-2.500 del NMC.

El LiFePO4 se considera hoy más seguro que el plomo-ácido. Las celdas pueden instalarse en cualquier orientación (vertical es lo óptimo), no contienen electrolito líquido y son totalmente reciclables.

Vida útil en ciclos que no agotará

Un ciclo es una descarga completa más una recarga completa. El recuento depende de la profundidad de cada descarga:

  • 100 % DoD - 3.000 ciclos (8,2 años con un ciclo al día)
  • 80 % DoD - 6.000 ciclos
  • 50 % DoD - 12.000 ciclos (más de 30 años de uso diario)
  • 30 % DoD - más de 15.000 ciclos

Como referencia, la mejor batería de gel de plomo-ácido alcanza 350-400 ciclos al 80 % de DoD. Una TITAN a la misma profundidad ofrece 6.000 - unas 15 veces más de vida útil.

Prismáticas, no cilíndricas

Nuestras celdas son prismas largos y planos que llenan la carcasa rectangular de extremo a extremo. Las celdas cilíndricas dejan huecos entre cada celda y son mucho más difíciles de reparar (mucho soldado por puntos), así que asumimos el coste extra de las prismáticas y le devolvemos la ganancia de capacidad. La carcasa de aluminio de la celda también disipa el calor de forma uniforme: incluso al límite completo de 250 A del BMS medimos temperaturas pico de celda en torno a 45 °C, muy dentro de especificación (el territorio de fuga térmica no empieza hasta unos 100 °C). Las esteras calefactoras también funcionan mejor con celdas prismáticas - cada celda queda contra el elemento calefactor, en lugar de solo el anillo exterior de un pack cilíndrico.

Capacidad, sin el peso

Cuadruplica la capacidad utilizable del plomo-ácido

Igualar estos 180 Ah en plomo-ácido supone cuatro baterías Exide ER550 de 115 Ah en paralelo hasta 460 Ah. Una TITAN 180 Ah sustituye a todas - un ahorro enorme en espacio, peso y cableado, sin desgasificación, así que puede instalarse en cualquier sitio.

Citamos la capacidad en Wh (vatios-hora) porque los Ah por sí solos ignoran la química. El litio TITAN entrega el 100 % de la capacidad nominal. El gel ronda el 90 %, el AGM el 75 %, el plomo-ácido inundado el 60 %. Teniendo eso en cuenta, una TITAN 180 Ah tiene más del doble de capacidad real que una batería de plomo-ácido con la misma etiqueta.

La batería unitaria de plomo-ácido más cercana (Exide AGM EP2100) pesa 70 kg y ocupa cuatro veces el volumen físico. Un ahorro de 53,5 kg importa en la ficha del eje motriz de una autocaravana, en la báscula del ferry y en el surtidor.

99 % de eficiencia eléctrica

Casi cada vatio que entra sale de nuevo. Un gran aliado para la solar - sin carga entrante desperdiciada - y dispuesta a aceptar corrientes de carga muy altas: del 0 al 95 % en menos de dos horas a más de 100 A.

El BMS TITAN

El sistema de gestión de batería es la placa de circuito entre las celdas y los bornes. Marca la diferencia entre una batería de litio que dura 15 años y una que se autodestruye en dos. La mayoría de marcas montan una placa de catálogo con parámetros genéricos. Nosotros no.

A medida, no de catálogo

Nuestro BMS es personalizado, con parámetros ajustados a la especificación exacta de celda que usamos. Eso nos permite llevar las celdas hasta sus límites reales de trabajo seguro sin comprometer la protección. También es cómo extraemos un 5-10 % extra de capacidad utilizable de cada celda (una 180 Ah puede mostrar 190 Ah con carga completa). No podemos garantizar la capacidad extra lote a lote, pero el BMS remapea su lectura del 100 % automáticamente para que la app siempre muestre lo que realmente tiene.

11 protecciones, todas autorrearmables

Sobredescarga, sobretensión, subtensión, sobrecorriente, cortocircuito, sobretemperatura, subtemperatura, fallos de equilibrio de celdas y más. Todas las protecciones son temporales - se autorrearman o se anulan en el momento en que la batería vuelve a cargarse. El límite de 250 A de corriente continua en este modelo es líder en su clase gracias a MOSFET premium, disipadores sobredimensionados y cableado interno correctamente dimensionado.

Equilibrado dual activo y pasivo de celdas

El equilibrado pasivo es barato: las celdas se descargan entre sí y listo. El equilibrado activo mueve energía activamente entre celdas, protegiendo a la celda más débil de hacer todo el trabajo. La mayoría de marcas eligen uno. Nosotros usamos ambos - pasivo para pequeñas diferencias de tensión, activo para las mayores. Mantiene bajo el consumo propio del BMS y aun así le da todo el beneficio del equilibrado activo. Es automático, más activo al cargar por encima de 3,4 V por celda, y tiene pleno efecto entre el 90-100 % de SOC.

Autocalentamiento, carga segura hasta -30 °C

El litio no puede cargarse por debajo de 0 °C sin dañar las celdas. Nuestra estera calefactora integrada envuelve el pack interno y se activa automáticamente en torno a 2 °C siempre que hay corriente de carga entrante. Toma primero del cargador y, si el cargador no da abasto, extrae hasta 3,6 A de la propia batería para llevar la temperatura de celda a 10 °C antes de volver a dirigir la carga a las celdas. Espere unos 20 minutos extra en el tiempo de carga con frío. La descarga no se ve afectada y funciona hasta -20 °C.

Hibernación automática y manual

Una batería de litio totalmente descargada y dejada meses puede ser una batería de litio que no vuelve. Dos modos de hibernación evitan eso:

  • Automática: se activa tras varios días de inactividad con SOC bajo. La batería deja de dar salida, pero conserva margen suficiente para durar unos 6 meses (más en packs mayores) antes de cualquier riesgo de celda. Se reactiva en cuanto la pone a cargar o abre la app.
  • Manual: activada con el cable on/off suministrado. El BMS permanece activo, pero carga y descarga quedan deshabilitadas. Perfecta para almacenamiento invernal - evita que cargas parásitas drenen la batería durante una temporada fuera de circulación.

Gestiona corrientes de arranque elevadas

Inversores, bombas de agua, motor movers y compresores pueden extraer más de 1.000 A durante un microsegundo al arrancar. Muchos BMS lo interpretan como cortocircuito y disparan. El nuestro está ajustado para absorber esos picos sin apagados molestos, de modo que las cargas de arranque se comportan como en su antiguo plomo-ácido.

Comunicación con inversores y dispositivos

Los puertos de comunicación en la carcasa permiten que la batería hable con inversores, cargadores y dispositivos GX compatibles. Por defecto Victron CANBUS (VE.CAN y BMS.CAN) y es compatible con Victron DVCC de serie. El modo de datos puede cambiarse a otras marcas o protocolos bajo pedido - indíquelo en las notas del pedido y nuestros ingenieros lo configurarán antes del envío.

Compatibilidad e instalación

Drop-in para plomo-ácido

Diseñada como sustitución directa equivalente de baterías de plomo-ácido DIN 019. Carcasa, disposición de bornes y dimensiones coinciden con la especificación de plomo-ácido, así que no hace falta modificar bandejas, correas ni recorridos de cable.

Revise su cargador. Las baterías TITAN aceptan modos AGM o "Sealed" si su cargador no tiene preset de litio dedicado. Apunte a una tensión máxima de carga de 14,4 V.

Compatible con relés de carga dividida y cargadores DC-DC de serie. Son baterías de servicio de ciclo profundo para alimentar equipos, no baterías de arranque.

Bornes

Doble conexión de serie: bornes redondos de cobre de alto rendimiento (SAE/automoción) para sujeción tipo plomo-ácido, más tuerca y tornillo M8 integrados en el mismo borne para cableado directo con terminal de anilla. Sin adaptadores, contacto libre de corrosión en ambos tipos.

Montaje

190 mm de alto de serie - encaja bajo la mayoría de bases de asiento y en bandejas de batería de fábrica. Puede montarse de lado para reducir la altura total a 175 mm cuando haga falta. Vertical es lo óptimo para la longevidad, pero la orientación no afecta a la seguridad ni al rendimiento.

Monitorización Bluetooth y la app TITAN

Bluetooth viene integrado. La app TITAN gratuita (iOS y Android, 10 idiomas) muestra tensión en vivo, corriente en amperios y vatios, SOC en porcentaje y en Ah, tensiones de celda individuales, temperatura interna, tiempo estimado hasta lleno o vacío, historial de disparos de protección y actividad de equilibrio en vivo.

Gestiona varias baterías en serie o en paralelo y recalcula totales automáticamente, así que tenga una 180Ah o tres en paralelo, las cifras en pantalla coinciden con el pack real.

Garantía, longevidad y reparación

Garantía de por vida real

Confiamos lo suficiente en la construcción como para respaldar cada batería de celda grado A con una garantía de por vida de la batería - totalmente transferible. Nuestra empresa matriz lleva operando de forma continua desde 1948, así que pretendemos seguir aquí para honrarla dentro de 20 años.

Lo que la garantía no cubre es el desgaste. Todas las baterías pierden capacidad con el uso - cuanto más las exija, más rápido ocurre. Coste en una década

La TITAN 180 Ah cuesta 649 £ nueva. En su vida útil de diseño de 10 años son 65 £ al año. El plomo-ácido más cercano - un Exide AGM EP2100 - ronda los 520 £ con una vida útil de diseño de 4 años, lo que implica sustituirla unas 2,5 veces en el mismo periodo. Digamos 130 £ al año, con mano de obra acumulada en cada sustitución. 650 £ ahorrados en 10 años, antes de contar peso, volumen y eficiencia. En la práctica la mayoría de nuestros clientes sacan 15-20 años de una TITAN.

Reparación modular

Si algo falla reparamos el módulo averiado - BMS, placa de equilibrio, una sola celda - en lugar de sustituir toda la batería. Menor coste para usted, menor huella de carbono, devolución más rápida. Como familia de especialistas en baterías desde los años 50, no hay mucho que no hayamos reconstruido ya.

Fairly easy to fit once I'd upgraded the solar charger to accept a LiFpo4 battery. Plugged the motorhome in at home and the battery was fully charged the following morning. May upgrade my solar panel next to take full advantage of the battery's capabilities.

This battery is a perfect fit for my sunlight cliff adventure 600 campervan and dropped straight in to replace the original lead acid battery under the drivers seat. No mods needed just change the charger setting to gel and the booster to lithium and works perfectly.

Really great product and battery fitted…

Really great product and battery fitted in as a direct swap. Spoke to the guys in the office and they advised me that no didn’t need to swap out my DC charger either (as some people of form is had advised) so saved me even more money.

Only grip was with the delivery and the DPD delivery driver who threw the battery out the back of the van and then just dropped it at my door. When I told him it was a lithium battery he just shrugged and said of it’s damaged call DPD.

We had many recommendations to fit a…

We had many recommendations to fit a Titan lithium battery to our Bailey Alora 69-4i and after a year of using a cheaper brand rated at 100A we decided to take the plunge and fit a Titan 180A, though slightly heavier than the previous 100A it still was less than half the weight of the original 100A AGM fitted, as our vehicle uses a compressor fridge/freezer and diesel heating the Titan should easily last 7-10 days in the summer, with 200W of solar panels looking forward to the next 10 years…..

Great Product, Service, and Advice

After much deliberation about upgrading my AGM Leisure Battery to Lithium on my new Campervan, I contacted Chris at Lithium Batteries. The advice I received during several conversations, gave me absolute confidence that Titan was the route to go. I opted for the 180ah Lithium, which probably was a bit overkill but it gave me the capacity to change direction from our conventional EHU camping that we have previously pursued. The product arrived next day and was fitted in a matter of minutes due to the case size being identical to the battery that it was to replace. The product quality is visually exceptional and came with a handy lead to enable me to hibernate the battery when required. I have carried out extensive testing ‘on the drive’, and the battery exceeded my expectations. It delivers exactly what it states on the tin. Excellent service, advice and product which I can’t fault.

Exceptional. I had a few questions so rang up and spoke with Chris, who was brilliant and nothing was too much.
I ordered my 180ah battery at about 12:30 on the Thursday afternoon and it was with me on Friday morning.

A most professional business offering great service.

I've thought about getting a lithium battery for our caravan for a couple of years but never felt sure I'd found the right one. Recently I came across the Titan brand owned by Groves Batteries. I emailed the company and Chris replied quickly not only answering all my questions but giving additional valuable information. After a few more email exchanges, the quality of which impressed me, I arranged to call at their premises and purchase the 180Ah battery which comes in a standard low profile case and therefore will fit in our standard size caravan battery locker. Replaces 4× standard ER550-class leisure batteries with one DIN-019 TITAN unit. Same case as the Varta LFD90, LED95, Banner 95751, Numax DC25MF, Exide EZ850 (EFB), EP800 (AGM) or ES900 (Gel). One battery, with the usable energy of 4 of them.

Comparisons are Wh-based against the Exide ER550 (115Ah / 550Wh / ~26kg) flooded leisure battery — one of the few lead-acid units that publishes a Wh rating. Same DIN-019 case is used by the Varta LFD90, LED95, Banner 95751, Numax DC25MF and Exide EZ850 (850Wh EFB), EP800 (800Wh AGM) and ES900 (900Wh Gel). Lead-acid usable energy assumes ~40–50% depth of discharge and voltage sag under load; TITAN figures assume 100% DoD at the C/5 rating. Nearly all of the rated capacity is available when needed; routine 10-90% use simply reduces long-term cell wear.

Fitting lithium in a boat or motorhome? Let your insurer know.

Most marine and leisure-vehicle policies ask to be told about changes to the battery system. It is a two-minute call: tell them you have fitted a TITAN LiFePO4 battery that is type tested to IEC 62619:2022, CE and UKCA marked, UN38.3 transport tested and RoHS compliant, with an IP67-sealed case and a custom BMS that protects against over-charge, over-discharge, short circuit and over-temperature. If you added a lithium-rated main fuse to your order (recommended), mention that too - insurers like to hear it. Keep your datasheet handy; it covers everything they may ask.

A custom BMS, not an off-the-shelf board. Oversized heat sinks, premium cabling, anti-vibration silicone on every contact, module-based for in-field repair, and our own comms package so no third-party app can edit your parameters.

Individually graded LiFePO4 cells

EVE and CATL cells, factory-graded for capacity and internal resistance, then top-balanced before assembly. We test every pack on the bench in Cheltenham before it leaves the building.
