Brief

A nuclear site needed 24V battery power for equipment that had to keep charging unattended through winter. Site rules prohibit radio-emitting devices, so the battery could carry no Bluetooth at all.

Requirements

  1. 24V, 230Ah.
  2. No radio transmitter of any kind.
  3. Internal heaters retained for unmanned winter charging.
  4. Delivery against a tight deadline.

Engineering response

A feature switched off in software does not satisfy a regulator, because the transmitter is still there. We specified a 24V build with the Bluetooth module physically removed, and disabled the active-balance comms to cut standby draw. The heaters and their control logic stayed in.

To meet the deadline by air freight, we also produced a smaller 24V 105Ah version in a custom shell.

Result

A radio-silent battery that meets the site's rules, delivered by air freight in 4 weeks.
