De celchemie
Alle TITAN-accu's maken gebruik van prismatische cellen van lithiumijzerfosfaat (LiFePO4) - de thermisch en chemisch meest stabiele lithiumchemie die beschikbaar is. Geen kobalt, geen nikkel, geen ontgassing, geen zuur. De wisselwerking is een iets lagere celspanning (3,2 V per cel, 4 cellen = 12,8 V) en een lagere energiedichtheid dan de NMC-cellen die in EV's worden gebruikt. In ruil daarvoor krijg je een levensduur waardoor NMC wegwerpbaar lijkt: 3.000 tot 25.000 cycli, afhankelijk van het gebruik, tegenover NMC's 1.000 tot 2.500.
LiFePO4 wordt nu algemeen als veiliger beschouwd dan loodzuur. Cellen kunnen in elke richting worden geïnstalleerd (rechtop is optimaal), bevatten geen vloeibare elektrolyt en zijn volledig recyclebaar.
Cyclusleven dat je niet zult overleven
Een cyclus bestaat uit één volledige ontlading plus één volledige oplaadbeurt. Tel weegschalen met hoe diep u elke ontlading neemt:
- 100% DoD - 3.000 cycli (8,2 jaar bij één cyclus per dag)
- 80% DoD - 6.000 cycli
- 50% DoD - 12.000 cycli (meer dan 30 jaar dagelijks gebruik)
- 30% DoD - 15.000+ cycli
Ter referentie: de beste loodzuurgelaccu bereikt een topsnelheid van 350-400 cycli bij 80% DoD. Een TITAN op dezelfde diepte geeft 6.000 – ongeveer 15x de levensduur.
Prismatisch, niet cilindrisch
Onze cellen zijn lange, platte prisma's die de rechthoekige behuizing van begin tot eind vullen. Cilindrische cellen laten gaten achter tussen elke cel en zijn veel moeilijker te repareren (veel puntlassen), dus betalen wij de extra kosten voor prismatisch en geven de capaciteitswinst aan u door. De aluminium celbehuizing verspreidt de warmte ook gelijkmatig: zelfs bij de volledige 250A BMS-toelage hebben we piekceltemperaturen rond 45°C gemeten, ruim binnen de specificaties (thermisch op hol geslagen gebied begint pas rond 100°C). Verwarmingsmatten werken ook beter met prismatische cellen: elke cel zit tegen het verwarmingselement, in plaats van alleen de buitenste ring van een cilindrisch pakket.
Capaciteit, zonder het gewicht
Verviervoudig de bruikbare capaciteit van loodzuur
Passend bij deze 180Ah aan loodzuur betekent dat vier Exide ER550 115Ah accu's parallel geschakeld tot 460Ah. Eén TITAN 180Ah vervangt de hele boel - enorme besparing in ruimte, gewicht en bekabeling, zonder vergassing, zodat hij overal kan leven.
We vermelden de capaciteit in Wh (wattuur) omdat Ah op zichzelf de chemie negeert. TITAN-lithium levert 100% van de nominale capaciteit. Gel beheert ongeveer 90%, AGM 75%, overstroomd loodzuur 60%. Tel dat mee en een TITAN 180Ah heeft meer dan het dubbele van de werkelijke capaciteit van een loodzuuraccu met hetzelfde label.
16,5kg. Niet 70kg.
De dichtstbijzijnde enkele loodzuuraccu (Exide AGM EP2100) weegt 70kg en neemt vier keer het fysieke volume in beslag. Een besparing van 53,5kg is van belang op de aandrijfasplaat van een camper, op de veerbootweegschaal en op de pomp.
99% elektrisch efficiënt
Bijna elke watt die je erin stopt, komt er ook weer uit. Een geweldige partner voor zonne-energie - geen verspilde inkomende lading - en accepteert graag zeer hoge laadstromen: 0 tot 95% in minder dan twee uur bij 100A+.
De TITAN BMS
Het accumanagementsysteem is de printplaat tussen de cellen en de klemmen. Het is het verschil tussen een lithiumaccu die vijftien jaar meegaat en een accu die zichzelf in tweeën vernietigt. De meeste merken passen op een kant-en-klaar bord met generieke parameters. Wij niet.
Op elkaar afgestemd, niet kant-en-klaar
Ons BMS is op maat gemaakt, met parameters die zijn afgestemd op de exacte celspecificaties die we gebruiken. Hierdoor kunnen we de cellen tot aan hun werkelijk veilige werklimieten laten werken zonder de bescherming in gevaar te brengen. Het is ook de manier waarop we 5-10% extra bruikbare capaciteit uit elke cel halen (een 180Ah kan worden weergegeven als 190Ah volledig opgeladen). We kunnen de bonuscapaciteit niet batch tot batch garanderen, maar het BMS brengt de 100% uitlezing automatisch opnieuw in kaart, zodat de app altijd laat zien wat je daadwerkelijk hebt.
11 beveiligingen, allemaal zelfherstellend
Overontlading, overspanning, onderspanning, overstroom, kortsluiting, overtemperatuur, ondertemperatuur, celbalansfouten en meer. Alle beveiligingen zijn tijdelijk: ze resetten zichzelf of verdwijnen zodra de accu weer wordt opgeladen. De continue stroomsterkte van 250A op dit model is toonaangevend in zijn klasse dankzij hoogwaardige MOSFET's, extra grote koellichamen en interne bekabeling van de juiste afmetingen.
Dubbele actieve en passieve celbalancering
Passief balanceren is goedkoop: cellen bloeden naar elkaar toe en dat is alles. Actief balanceren verplaatst energie actief tussen cellen, waardoor de zwakste cel wordt beschermd tegen al het werk. De meeste merken kiezen er één. We gebruiken beide: passief voor kleine spanningsdelta's, actief voor grotere. Houdt het eigen stroomverbruik van het gebouwbeheersysteem laag en biedt u toch alle voordelen van actief balanceren. Het is automatisch, het meest actief bij opladen boven 3,4 V per cel, en heeft volledig effect tussen 90-100% SOC.
Zelfverwarmend, veilig opladen tot -30°C
Lithium kan niet worden opgeladen onder 0°C zonder celbeschadiging. Onze ingebouwde verwarmingsmat omhult het interne pakket en wordt automatisch ingeschakeld bij een temperatuur van ongeveer 2 °C wanneer er een inkomende laadstroom is. Hij haalt eerst energie uit de oplader en als de oplader het niet bij kan houden, haalt hij tot 3,6 A uit de accu zelf om de celtemperatuur op 10°C te brengen voordat de lading terug naar de cellen wordt geleid. Reken op ongeveer 20 minuten extra oplaadtijd in de kou. De ontlading blijft onaangetast en werkt tot -20°C.
Automatische en gebruikersslaapstand
Een volledig ontladen lithiumaccu die maandenlang blijft liggen, kan een lithiumaccu zijn die niet meer terugkomt. Twee slaapstandmodi voorkomen dat dit gebeurt:
- Automatisch: treedt op na enkele dagen inactiviteit bij een lage SOC. De accu stopt met presteren, maar behoudt voldoende ruimte om ongeveer 6 maanden mee te gaan (langer bij grotere pakketten) voordat er enig celrisico ontstaat. Wordt wakker zodra u hem oplaadt of de app opent.
- Gebruiker: geactiveerd door de meegeleverde aan/uit-kabel. BMS blijft wakker, maar laden en ontladen zijn uitgeschakeld. Perfect voor winterstalling - voorkomt dat parasitaire ladingen de accu leegtrekken gedurende een seizoen als u niet op de weg bent.
Kan hoge inschakelstromen aan
Omvormers, waterpompen, motorverplaatsers en compressoren kunnen bij het opstarten gedurende een microseconde 1.000A+ trekken. Veel gebouwbeheersystemen interpreteren dit als kortsluiting en uitschakeling. Die van ons is afgestemd om die pieken te doorstaan zonder hinderlijke uitschakelingen, zodat opstartbelastingen zich gedragen zoals ze deden met uw oude loodzuur.
Omvormer- en apparaatcommunicatie
Dankzij de communicatiepoorten op de behuizing kan de accu communiceren met compatibele omvormers, opladers en GX-apparaten. Standaard ingesteld op Victron CANBUS (VE.CAN en BMS.CAN) en is compatibel met Victron DVCC uit de doos. De datamodus kan op verzoek worden omgeschakeld naar andere merken of protocollen. Geef dit aan in de bestelnotities en onze technici zullen dit vóór verzending instellen.

Montage en installatie
Drop-in voor loodzuur
Ontworpen als directe, vergelijkbare vervanging voor 019 DIN-loodzuuraccu's. De behuizing, de terminalindeling en de afmetingen komen overeen met de loodzuurspecificaties, dus het is niet nodig om trays, riemen of kabeltrajecten opnieuw te bewerken.
Controleer uw oplader nogmaals. TITAN-accu's accepteren AGM- of "Sealed"-modi als uw lader geen speciale lithiumvoorinstelling heeft. Streef naar een maximale laadspanning van 14,4V.
Compatibel met split-charge-relais en DC-DC-laders uit de doos. Dit zijn huishoudaccu's met een diepe cyclus voor het laten draaien van apparatuur, geen accu's voor het starten van motoren.
Terminals
Standaard dubbele aansluiting: hoogwaardige koperen ronde (SAE/automobiel) aansluitingen voor loodzuurklemmontage, plus een geïntegreerde M8 moer en bout op dezelfde aansluiting voor directe ringterminalbekabeling. Geen adapters nodig, corrosievrij contact op beide typen.
Montage
Standaard 190mm hoog - past onder de meeste stoelbases en in fabrieksaccubakken. Kan op zijn kant worden gemonteerd om de totale hoogte waar nodig op 175mm te brengen. Rechtop staan is optimaal voor een lange levensduur, maar de oriëntatie heeft geen invloed op de veiligheid of prestaties.
Bluetooth-bewaking en de TITAN app
Bluetooth is ingebouwd. De gratis TITAN app (iOS en Android, 10 talen) toont live-spanning, stroom in zowel ampère als watt, SOC als percentage en in Ah, individuele celspanningen, interne temperatuur, geschatte tijd tot vol of leeg, beveiligingstripgeschiedenis en live balanceringsactiviteit.
Het verwerkt meerdere accu's in serie of parallel en berekent de totalen automatisch opnieuw, dus of u nu één 180Ah of drie parallel heeft, de cijfers op het scherm komen overeen met het daadwerkelijke pakket.
Garantie, levensduur en reparatie
Werkelijke levenslange garantie
We hebben genoeg vertrouwen in de constructie om elke klasse A-celaccu te ondersteunen met een garantie die de hele levensduur van de accu duurt - volledig overdraagbaar. Ons moederbedrijf is al sinds 1948 onafgebroken actief, dus we zijn van plan er over twintig jaar weer te zijn.
Wat niet onder de garantie valt, is slijtage. Alle accu's verliezen capaciteit bij gebruik: hoe harder u ermee werkt, hoe sneller dat gebeurt. LiFePO4 is opmerkelijk resistent: verwacht bij normaal gebruik elke tien jaar een capaciteitsdaling van 5-10%. Een gloednieuwe 180Ah geeft volledig opgeladen zo'n 190Ah aan, een 10 jaar oude 180Ah rond de 180Ah, een 20 jaar oude 180Ah rond de 165Ah. Natuurlijke degradatie is geen geldige garantieclaim. Als een accu niet meer voldoende capaciteit heeft voor uw gebruik, is het tijd om deze te vervangen.
De garantie dekt onderdelen tegen voortijdige uitval veroorzaakt door fabricagefouten. De volledige voorwaarden staan op onze garantiepagina.
Kosten meer dan een decennium
De TITAN 180Ah kost nieuw € 649. Over de ontwerplevensduur van 10 jaar is dat £ 65 per jaar. Het dichtstbijzijnde loodzuur – een Exide AGM EP2100 – kost ongeveer £ 520 met een ontwerplevensduur van vier jaar, wat betekent dat het in dezelfde periode ongeveer 2,5 keer moet worden vervangen. Noem het £ 130 per jaar, met opeenvolgende arbeid bij elke vervanging. £ 650 bespaard over een periode van 10 jaar, voordat u de voordelen op het gebied van gewicht, volume en efficiëntie meetelt. In de praktijk zien de meeste van onze klanten 15-20 jaar uit een TITAN.
Modulegebaseerde reparatie
Als er iets kapot gaat, repareren we de defecte module (BMS, balansbord, een enkele cel) in plaats van de hele accu te vervangen. Lagere kosten voor u, lagere ecologische voetafdruk, snellere doorlooptijd. Als familie van accuspecialisten sinds de jaren vijftig is er niet veel dat we niet al hebben herbouwd.

Fairly easy to fit once I'd upgraded the solar charger to accept a LiFpo4 battery. Plugged the motorhome in at home and the battery was fully charged the following morning. May upgrade my solar panel next to take full advantage of the battery's capabilities.

This battery is a perfect fit for my sunlight cliff adventure 600 campervan and dropped straight in to replace the original lead acid battery under the drivers seat. No mods needed just change the charger setting to gel and the booster to lithium and works perfectly.

Could not be happier with the Titan battery, delivery was really quick and it literally slotted right in and gives me improvements immediately in my Bailey Adamo. The App is also very helpful and led me to diagnosing a problem with the MPPT for my solar panels which is now fixed and working.

Really great product and battery fitted in as a direct swap. Spoke to the guys in the office and they advised me that no didn’t need to swap out my DC charger either (as some people of form is had advised) so saved me even more money.
Only grip was with the delivery and the DPD delivery driver who threw the battery out the back of the van and then just dropped it at my door. When I told him it was a lithium battery he just shrugged and said of it’s damaged call DPD.

We had many recommendations to fit a Titan lithium battery to our Bailey Alora 69-4i and after a year of using a cheaper brand rated at 100A we decided to take the plunge and fit a Titan 180A, though slightly heavier than the previous 100A it still was less than half the weight of the original 100A AGM fitted, as our vehicle uses a compressor fridge/freezer and diesel heating the Titan should easily last 7-10 days in the summer, with 200W of solar panels looking forward to the next 10 years…..

After much deliberation about upgrading my AGM Leisure Battery to Lithium on my new Campervan, I contacted Chris at Lithium Batteries. The advice I received during several conversations, gave me absolute confidence that Titan was the route to go. I opted for the 180ah Lithium, which probably was a bit overkill but it gave me the capacity to change direction from our conventional EHU camping that we have previously pursued. The product arrived next day and was fitted in a matter of minutes due to the case size being identical to the battery that it was to replace. The product quality is visually exceptional and came with a handy lead to enable me to hibernate the battery when required. I have carried out extensive testing ‘on the drive’, and the battery exceeded my expectations. It delivers exactly what it states on the tin. I've thought about getting a lithium battery for our caravan for a couple of years but never felt sure I'd found the right one. Recently I came across the Titan brand owned by Groves Batteries. I emailed the company and Chris replied quickly not only answering all my questions but giving additional valuable information. After a few more email exchanges, the quality of which impressed me, I arranged to call at their premises and purchase the 180Ah battery which comes in a standard low profile case and therefore will fit in our standard size caravan battery locker. Lead-acid usable energy assumes ~40–50% depth of discharge and voltage sag under load; TITAN figures assume 100% DoD at the C/5 rating. Nearly all of the rated capacity is available when needed; routine 10-90% use simply reduces long-term cell wear.

Most marine and leisure-vehicle policies ask to be told about changes to the battery system. It is a two-minute call: tell them you have fitted a TITAN LiFePO4 battery that is type tested to IEC 62619:2022, CE and UKCA marked, UN38.3 transport tested and RoHS compliant, with an IP67-sealed case and a custom BMS that protects against over-charge, over-discharge, short circuit and over-temperature. If you added a lithium-rated main fuse to your order (recommended), mention that too - insurers like to hear it. Keep your datasheet handy; it covers everything they may ask.

A custom BMS, not an off-the-shelf board. Oversized heat sinks, premium cabling, anti-vibration silicone on every contact, module-based for in-field repair, and our own comms package so no third-party app can edit your parameters.

Individually graded LiFePO4 cells
EVE and CATL cells, factory-graded for capacity and internal resistance, then top-balanced before assembly. We test every pack on the bench in Cheltenham before it leaves the building.

DIN-format casework so it drops straight in where the lead-acid came out. Marine-spec terminals, an integrated low-temp charge cut-off, and a Bluetooth radio paired to the TITAN App for live monitoring from your phone.
